1982 the idea of cycling as a form of holiday was born here at the Danube; our managers were among the initiators. You stay in good hotels with long lasting experience in the cycle tourism.

Donauradweg_Eferding_Schloss_Starhemberg
  • Day 1, Arrival
    from every DB/ÖBB-train station/2nd class (also ICE) to Passau. Hand over of rental bikes and information. Overnight/breakf. in the 4****Hotel IBB.
Donauradweg_Engelhartszell_Stift
  • Day 2, Schlögen (43 km)
    Passing Engelhartszell you cycle along the DANUBE to the  Danube bend Schlögener Schlinge. Overnight/breakf. in the 4****Hotel Donauschlinge directly at the Danube.
Donauradweg_Linz
  • Day 3, Linz (54 km)
    Through the here unsettled Danube valley on the DANUBE CYCLE TRACK to Aschach and Linz. Overnight/breakf. in the 4****Hotels Park Inn or Schillerpark.
Donauradweg_Grein_Greinburg
  • Day 4, Ardagger/ Grein (58 km)
    Cycle tour past Langenstein and Mauthausen to Ardagger/Grein. Overnight/breakf. in the 3***Hotels Schatzkastl or Martha.

  • Day 5, Spitz (52 km bike, 17 km ship)
    Along the DANUBE through the Strudengau into the Wachau to Melk; by ship to Spitz. Overnight/breakf. in the 3***Hotels Wachauerhof or Goldenes Schiff.

  • Day 6, Traismauer (39 km)
    Passing Dürnstein and Krems you cycle into the Gothic village Traismauer.

Donauradweg_Greifenstein_Burg
  • Day 7, Vienna (61 km)
    Along the extensions of the Viennese Forest you reach Vienna. Overnight/breakf. in the 4****Hotels NH Danube City or Ramada Floridsdorf.
Donauradweg_Wien_Schloss Belvedere
  • Day 8, Journey home
    by train or every Wednesday from July 4th to August 15th by MS Kaiserin Elisabeth II for a special rate of € 45,-/double or € 75,-/single incl. overnight/breakfast in a 4****hotel in Linz and 3 transfers hotel/ship Vienna, ship/hotel/ship Linz (route see "Back by excursion ship").

CULINARY

Demi-halfboard: Three dinners in Passau, Schlögen and Traismauer are included, in the other towns you organize the dinner in one of the many restaurants or wine taverns yourself.

Halfboard: For a surcharge it is also possible to include halfboard on all evenings.

Special child reductions:
With exception of arrivals July 13th to August 22nd we offer for 2 adults with max. TWO children in a 4-bed-room (or 2 doubles next to each other) the following reductions: 0-6 years 100 % and 6-12 years 25 %.
