Vienna "The city of music" (Frank Sinatra). Here is to less space to describe this beautiful city. Greifenstein Greifenstein is situated at the south eastern end of the "Tullnerfeld", and in the north-west of Vienna. Tulln In front of the gates of Vienna is the Roman town Tulln situated. The most popular sight is the "Tullner Karner". Traismauer Traismauer is situated in Lower Austria and has much to offer beside the interesting history. Krems The city Krems-Stein is one of the oldest cities in Austria. The good climate and the location were the main reasons for the colonization and the development as a center in the area of the Danube. Dürnstein A village which you shouldn't miss is Dürnstein, were tradition and beauty meet each other. The landscape is perfect for relaxing - next to the old vineyards and cultural memorials. Melk Melk is situated next to the Danube and is the gate to the Wachau valley, a well known wine growing area. The most important sight is the baroque abbey "Stift Melk". Grein Grein is known for the castle "Greinburg", which is situated next to the Danube, and also for the baroque theater. Linz Linz is the capital city of Upper Austria. The most popular sights are the cathedral "Mariendom", castle, main square, hill "Pöstlingberg", art museum "Lentos" and the AEC-museum of the future. Aschach This charming village next to the bicycle path of the Danube is situated between Passau and Linz, where the Danube flows into the "Eferdinger Becken". Schlögen The lookout "Schlögener Blick" is the best place for a view over the "Schlögener Schlinge", the miracle of nature of Upper Austria. Passau Passau is situated in the south-east of Germany on the border to Austria. Because of the confluence of the three rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz, Passau is called the "Dreiflüssestadt" (three-river-town).

DANUBE CYCLE PATH

Bike & Boat - that's how we call our offer with a "floating" hotel. Overnight stays on the middle class ship in outside cabins with shower, WC, air conditioner, ground beds.

FACTS

Individual cycling tour. Experience Europe's first cycle path from Passau to Vienna and spend nights in the "floating hotel". Overnight, the ship is anchored in the nicest locations near the centre (in Vienna, 4 km from the Gürtel), so you have the opportunity to stroll in the evening.

ROUTE

Saturday, Arrival
at Passau/Donau Touristik Info Point. Unsecured parking. Passenger transfer to the ship at 16.30 (fom Central Station at 16.45). Distribution of travel documents and move-in into cabins on board. 4 course welcome menu.

Sunday, Passau - Schlögen - Linz (59 km)
Departure of the ship from Passau in the early morning. Distribution of rental bicycles in Schlögen at 9:00. Riding on the Danube cycle path through the Schlögener bends, through the baroque market Aschach to Wilhering and Linz.

Monday, Linz - Ybbs (58 km)
By ship to the Au Naarn in the morning. Cycling tour in Strudengau through Grein to Ybbs.

Tuesday, Ybbs – Krems (59 km)
Riding along the Danube, through Säusenstein to the gate of Wachau - Melk (abbey). Further through the famous wine-growing villages Spitz and Dürnstein to Krems.

Wednesday, Krems – Tulln/Vienna (52 km cycling, 21 km by train)
Riding on the Danube cycle path through Traismauer to the flower city Tulln, and further to the first suburb of Vienna - Greifenstein; continuing by train (S-Bahn) to the center of Vienna, where you will arrive directly at the ship. After dinner, "City Tour Vienna at Night" by bus.

Thursday, Vienna
Individual tour in Vienna, journey to the center (2 underground tickets included). Departure of MS Diana at 18:30. Dinner on board.

Friday, Linz (42 km)
Cycling tour from Au/Naarn to Enns and the Abbey of St. Florian. Guided tour and riding further to Linz. Return of rental bikes and 4 course dinner on board. Continuing by ship at 18:30 from Linz to Passau.

Saturday, Passau
Breakfast buffet. Arrival in Passau at 09:00 and at 09:45 passenger transfer to the central station or the parking.

YOUR SHIP

MS Diana is a good middle class cruise ship operating under the Dutch flag. 79 m long, 7.75 m wide, 1.3 m draft. The ship provides 39 outside cabins equipped with shower/wc, ground beds, air conditioner, and TV. MS Diana has three decks - the main, promenade and sun deck. Furthermore, a restaurant and a lounge with a bar. 14 crew members make you feel comfortable on board. German-speaking guide on board. Route change due to the water level is unlikely but possible.
