ROUTE
- Day 1, Arrival
at Regensburg in 4****Hotel Courtyard Marriott. Distribution of bicycles and information package. Unsecured parking near the hotel.
- Day 2, Straubing (54 km)
Riding on the Danube cycle path through Walhalla (Hall of Fame in a magnificent location on a slope towards the Danube) to Straubing. Overnight stay in 4****Hotel Asam.
- Day 3, Osterhofen (49 km)
Riding further on the Danube cycle path through beautiful meadows to Osterhofen. Overnight stay in a nice 3***Guest House.
- Day 4, Kramesau (55 km cycling, 19 km by ship)
Passing over Kachlet reaching the three-river-town Passau; continuing further by ship to Kasten (2-hour intervals). Riding further to Jochenstein on the right bank and to Kramesau on the left bank of the Danube. Overnight stay in 3***Hotel Luger.
- Day 5, Linz (69 km)
Riding through the Schlögener bends to Kaiserau, Aschach and to the church of thousand angels in Wilhering as well as to Linz. Overnight stay in 4****Hotels C. Marriott or Schillerpark.
- Day 6, Perg (42 km)
Travelling on the steepest adhesion railway line in Europe to the Pöstlingberg and back, riding further on the Danube cycle path over St. Georgen to Perg. Overnight stay in 3***Hotel Manner.
- Day 7, Maria Taferl (48 km)
Riding over Grein to Ybbs, Marbach/D. and to the baroque place of the pilgrimage. Overnight stay in 4****Hotel Krone-Kaiserhof.
- Day 8, Tour of Melk (49 km)
Riding on the left bank through Artstetten (castle), and Klein-Pöchlarn to Melk, visit to the famous abbey. Return journey on the right bank through Pöchlarn. Overnight stay in the previous night's hotel.
- Day 9, Krems (47 km)
Reaching Dürnstein (castle ruins) and Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site) through the Wachau. Overnight stay in 4****Hotel Arte or Klinglhuber.
- Day 10, Vienna (52 km cycling, 21 km by train)
Riding through Tullner Field to the flower city Tulln and further to Greifenstein, optional return of the bikes near the railway station and continuing to the hotel in Vienna by train or riding further to Vienna. Overnight stay in 4****Arcotel Kaiserwasser near the empire bridge or 4****NH-Hotel Danube (73 km).
- Day 11, Departure
Return journey from Vienna to Regensburg by train (3 changes in case of your own bike) ÖBB/DB bike ticket available at € 9,50. Or stay extension in Vienna or Regensburg.
