DANUBE CYCLE PATH
FACTS
8 to 25 cycling vacationers are on the road with our guide. You can always ask Elisabeth Danninger (phone number extension 56) for the number of registered participants.
This cycling tour is also available as individual tour.
ROUTE
- Day 1, Arrival (18 km round trip)
Arrival at Passau. Private parking and bicycles distribution. Evening cycling round trip on the Inn cycle path to Wernstein; return journey through the bike suspension bridge.
Group tour: Welcome menu at the hotel
- Day 2, Schlögen (43 km)
Sightseeing in three-rivers-town (Passau); cycling tour to Engelhartszell (monastery) and further to the Schlögener bends.
Group tour: guided tour of Passau, monastery guided tour and bowling night in the hotel.
- Day 3, Linz (59 km)
Riding through the unsettled Eng Valley at Kaiserau, through Aschach and Wilhering to Linz.
Group tour: organ concert and champagne reception at the Linz City Hall.
- Day 4, Ardagger/Grein (63 km)
Cycling tour - over the Pleschinger Lake - through Mitterkirchen to Grein.
Group tour: Picnic on the way with a typical Upper Austrian specialities and beer tasting in the evening.
- Day 5, Spitz/Wachau (52 km cycling, 17 km by ship)
Passing the Wörth Island - where the Danube women eat young men in fog - to Melk and by ship to Spitz.
Group tour: degustation of wines from the famous Wachau wine region.
- Day 6, Vienna (64 km cycling, 36 km by train)
Cycling tour to Krems and further to Tulln. Bicycles return. By train (S-Bahn) to Vienna.
Group tour: dinner at a winery in Grinzing-Döbling.
- Day 7, Extra nights or return journey
Bus transfer to Passau or stay extension.
HOTELS
Overnight stays in very good 3*** and 4****hotels.
CUISINE
Daily breakfast buffet, during group tour two 3 course dinner menus as described.
