Drau cycle path
FACTS
Individual cycling tour. The Drau bicycle path is mostly paved and runs either flat or slightly downhill and it is traffic free starting from Lienz.
ROUTE
- Day 1, Arrival
at Lienz/Drau. Private parking. Distribution of bicycles and information packages.

- Day 2, Berg a. d. Drau (55 km cycling, 30 km by train)
Journey to Sillian by train. View over Dolomites and the Heinfels Castle on the way to Thal, passing archaelogical excavations and getting to Berg/Drau.

- Day 3, Sachsenburg (41 km)
Cycling tour in a medieval Greifenburg area and then to the Neustein Castle; riding through the Raggnitz Castle and arriving to Sachsenburg.

- Day 4, Villach (47 km)
Riding through the Rothenthurn Castle to Paternion and Villach (historical center, "holy mind church", dolls- & vehicles museum).

Riding along the Drau to the rich in species zoo located by the Rosegg Castle and "Celtic World" by Froeg. Continuing further to Feistritz in Rosental and then to the old city Ferlach.

- Day 6, the Klopein Lake (43 km)
Riding through Rosental to Seidendorf, passing the Neudenstein Castle, getting to the national market (parish church, old town hall, New Castle); the riding on side streets to the Klopein Lake.

- Day 7, Departure
After breakfast return journey by bus to parking in Linz (approx. 3 hours).
