in Rothenburg/T. Handing out of info documents and rental bikes. Private parking space (unguarded). Recommendable is the night-watchman guided tour (€ 6,- surcharge).

- Day 2, Herrieden (55 km)
At the beginning slightly hilly to the spring of the Altmühl; along the small brook past the Hohenzollern Castle Colmberg into the Medieval town Herrieden.

- Day 3, Weißenburg (59 km)
To the Lake Altmühl; over Gunzenhausen you reach the Gothic Weißenburg. If you booked an additional overnight it is incl. entry spa Treuchtlingen (7 pools, 32.000 m² water area; 11 km away) for 3,5 hours.

Past Treuchtlingen you cycle through the Nature Reserve Altmühl valley. Further on to Pappenheim, Solnhofen, to the twelve-apostles (rock) and into the bishop town Eichstätt.

Through the Nature Reserve to the Roman fort to Pfünz, on to Arnsberg (castle), Kipfenberg and Beilngries.
