ROUTE
- Day 1, Arrival
from every DB/ÖBB train station (eg. in EC 115 from Duisburg with only one change in Spittal/D.) to Lienz/Eastern Tyrol. Hotel near train station. Handing out of bikes and info.
- Day 2, Puster valley (40 km cycling, 45 min. train)
Train ride to San Candido, then by bike always slightly downhill back into the romantic trading town Lienz.
- Day 3, Berg (31 km)
Sightseeing of Castle Bruck (impressive painting galery). Afterwards cycle tour past archeological excavation sites and through Oberdrauburg as well as Dellach to Berg/Drava.
- Day 4, Sachsenburg (44 km)
Through the now broad and welcoming valley you cycle to the Medieval Greifenburg and past the castles Neustein and Raggnitz to Sachsenburg/Drava.
- Day 5, Villach (48 km)
Sightseeing Castle Porcia, then on the well-marked Drava Cycle Track passing Castle Rothenthurn to Paternion and Villach.
- Day 6, Ossiacher Lake (49 km)
From Villach at the Ossiacher Lake Cycle Track past the foot of the Castle Landskron to the lake. Passing the main town of the lake (convent, romantic setting) through ample reed areas to Bodensdorf; back to the hotel.
- Day 7, Lake Wörthersee (37 km)
On the Drava Cycle Track over Rosegg (wildlife park) to Velden; along the Lake Wörthersee to Krumpendorf.
- Day 8, Journey home
after breakfast. Journey home by EC 114 (eg. to Duisburg no changes) or additional overnights.
