ELBE CYCLE TRACK: Bad Schandau - Dessau

Cycle Track: The ELBE CYCLE TRACK was newly constructed for the majority from the federal countries Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony with much care. Otherwise the uniformly marked, flat CYCLE TRACK runs approx. 15 % on back roads with little traffic and 80 % are bituminised.

Start and end: Bad Schandau (2.900 inh.), situated at the border to the Czech Republic (120 m sea level). Wittenberg (45.800 inh.), the town of Luther (85 m sea level).

Dates: Arrival every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from April 29th to October 2nd (= last arrival)
Low season: April 29th to May 31st and Aug. 1st to Oct. 2nd (= last arrival)
High season: June 1st to July 31st

Service: Parking on private grounds (unguarded) at the 1st hotel; return transfer every Saturday by bus from Dessau or Wittenberg to Dresden and Bad Schandau. Rest of days by train (arr. Bad Schandau 14.46 h, arr. Dresden 13.42 h). Own bikes are taken on the bus for a surcharge of € 18,- without/€ 63,- incl. transport insurance.

Our tip: Book an additional overnight in Wittenberg and explore the UNESCO-world heritage Wörlitzer Park on the way to Dessau.
