MAIN CYCLE TRACK: Classic variation

Day 1. Tag, Arrival
in Bamberg. Underground parking. Hotels near the old town.
Overnight in the 3***s-Welcome Kongresshotel or 3***+Hotel Best Western.

Day 2, Schweinfurt (61 km bike)
Handing out of rental bikes and after the indiv. sightseeing of the UNESCO-world-heritage-site Bamberg (Emperor´s cathedral, residence with state gallery, Carmelite convent, aso.) on the Main Cycle Track passing Nature Reserver Hassberge to Schweinfurt (St. Johannis-Church, Gallery Georg Schäfer).
Overnight in the 4****Hotel Mercure.

Day 3, Dettelbach/Kitzingen (55 km)
Very beautiful passing vineyards to Volkach, Schwarzach and Dettelbach/Kitzingen (castle, townscape, minster).
Overnight in the 4****Akzent Hotel Franziskaner.

Day 4, Karlstadt (69 km)
Through the here narrower valley, past vineyards and orchards, always on the left bank, you cycle to Würzburg. The old bishop town will be crossed on the cycle track. Further on to the Convent Zell at the Main and to Karlstadt (runis Karlsburg, townscape).
Overnight in the 3***S-Hotel Mainpromenade.

Day 5, Wertheim (67 km)
Through the lonesome Main valley to Gemünden, Erlach, Marktheidenfeld and to Wertheim, where the Tauber Valley Cycle Track invites you for a short ride.
Overnight in the 3***Hotel Kette or 3***Hotel am Malerwinkel.

Day 6, Aschaffenburg (53 km, 30 min. train)
Further on through the romantic Main valley passing castles and beautiful towns to Mondfeld, Freudenberg and Miltenberg with the Castle Mildenburg. In the now opener and flatter Main valley past Klingenberg to Wörth. By train to Aschaffenburg (glorious castle).
Overnight in the 4****Hotel Dalberg or 4****City Hotel Aschaffenburg.

Day 7, Frankfurt (55 km)
On traffic-free cycle tracks through very beautiful floodplains to Seligenstadt (Einhard-Basilica, townscape), past Offenbach through well-maintained parks directly into the centre of the bank metropolis. Cycle track till the "Eisernen Steg" near Roman.
Overnight in the 4****Hotel Steigenberger City or 4****Hotel Savoy (at the train station).

Day 8, Arrival
Return trip by train; Frankfurt departure 9.30 h/Bamberg arrival 12.34 h without changes.
