    GENERAL INFORMATION

    • Individual bike tour from city to city
    • 301-341 km by bike, flat route, about 60 % is paved; the rest is on hard dirt roads or causeways.
    • 75 % on clearly marked car-free bike and embankment trails, partly short sections on land and side streets

    OUR TIPS

    Fly to Budapest for an extra night then transfer back by bus to Vienna before beginning your bike tour.  

    ROUTE

    1. Day, Arrival
    In Vienna. Parking garage near hotel.

    2. Day, Bratislava (68/28 km)
    Bike distribution at the hotel. Travel through the Donauauen National Park to Hainburg and the day's destination. On Sundays we offer a free boat trip on board the 'MS Kaiserin Elisabeth' from Vienna to Bratislava.

    3. Day, Mosonmagyaróvàr (50 km)
    Cycle along a beautiful bike trail to the Slovakian and Hungarian border, through the unspoiled landscape of the 'Schüttinsel' (Little Rye Island) to arrive in the beautiful spa town.

    4. Day, Györ (45 km)
    Cycling in the direction of Hédervár, part of which is along the idyllic Danube dyke to Györ - the important metropolis of Hungary.

    5. Day, Komárno (64 km)
    Along the river Rába to the Hungarian/Slovakian border. Continue on the beautiful riverside causeway path to Zlatná and the fortress city.

    6. Day, Visegrád (69 km)
    Go past the Roman fort Kelemantia along the causeway trail to Esztergom (Castle and Cathedral) ending the day's ride in Visegrád.

    7. Day, Budapest (45 km)
    Visit the ruins of the palace. Ride round the Donauknie to Szentendre and then on to the destination of the day or take the train or boat from Szentendre (costs ca. € 6,- for a ticket)

    8. Day, Return
    Either book some additional nights or return back to Vienna: Fridays and Saturdays take the bus directly from the hotel. From Sunday to Thursday return by train. (Transporting your own bike is not advisable.)

    Breakfast buffet or an extended breakfast. The Slovakian and Hungarian cuisine with its hefty, substantial savory and spicy dishes uses Chicken and beef as well as a lot of vegetables such as cabbage or peppers. 

    OUR RENTAL BIKES

    Our e-bikes are from the companies “Schauff”, “Kettler” and “KTM eCROSS” with 7 hub gear and 24 gears, left pedal brake and comfort saddle are standard.
