Stretch instead of stress
Stretch properly & stay fit while travelling!
If you've been in the saddle all day, you should take a few minutes to treat your body afterwards. Proper stretching after a cycle tour supports regeneration, prevents tension and ensures fresh legs the next day!
A cycling holiday is all about exercise, nature and relaxation, but it often puts more strain on the body than expected. This is exactly where the motto "Stretch instead of stress" comes in. With targeted stretching exercises, you can prevent tension, loosen up your muscles and significantly increase your cycling performance. It is particularly important to pay sufficient attention to your body on cycle tours lasting several days in order to avoid discomfort and stay fit in the long term.
Regular stretching before and after the stages helps to relax the stressed muscle groups - especially the legs, back and shoulders. At the same time, it improves mobility and promotes blood circulation. This will not only give you a more pleasant start to the next day of cycling, but will also improve your general well-being throughout the entire journey.
Another advantage: stretching exercises can be easily integrated into your daily routine. Be it in the morning before the start, during a short break or in the evening at the hotel. Just a few minutes are enough to achieve noticeable effects. If you consciously listen to your body and stretch regularly, you can significantly reduce typical complaints such as neck tension or sore muscles.
"Stretch instead of stress" therefore means actively doing something for your own health and enjoying your cycling holiday even more intensively. With the right balance of exercise and relaxation, your cycling holiday will not only be a sporting experience, but also an all-round relaxing one.
Squatting stretch
Squat down with your feet pointing forwards in parallel. This position opens up the hips, relieves pressure on the lower back and is particularly good after long tours.
Calf stretch on the wall
Stand in front of a wall, one leg slightly bent at the front, the other stretched backwards. Keep your heel on the floor. Hold for 30 seconds - then switch sides. Helps against tense calves and promotes blood circulation.
Magnesium & water
Especially on hot days: drink plenty of fluids and supplement magnesium if necessary to prevent muscle cramps.
Conclusion: With a few simple exercises, you can stay fit and relaxed on your cycle tour so that you can get going again the next morning with full energy!
