Pamela's insider tip - Bad Gögging on the German Danube Cycle Path

My name is Pamela and I have been working for Donau Touristik since 2013. My area of responsibility includes managing the accounting, controlling and human resources departments. In my free time, my bike is my constant companion. Of course, I benefit from the advantage of working for Austria's largest cycle tour operator. I have particularly fond memories of exploring the German Danube Cycle Path, a region with a unique natural backdrop, which I have already visited three times.

In this region, the star cycle tour around Bad Gögging is particularly recommended. A seven-day cycle tour with overnight stays at the 4☼☼☼☼Sup. - The Monarch Hotel is pure relaxation. The comfort hotel, in a quiet location, offers a spacious wellness area with indoor and outdoor pool. The rooms are superbly equipped and offer all the amenities you need on a cycle tour. The hotel also fulfils every culinary wish. The varied breakfast and evening buffets are a real treat, and if the weather doesn't play ball or you don't feel like cycling, the hotel offers plenty of alternative ways to spend the day.

The region around Bad Gögging is ideal for exploring by bike. Excellent and easy cycle paths characterise the landscape.

This organised cycle tour is suitable for all leisure cyclists and families, as The Monarch Hotel has a number of family rooms. The day tours are designed in such a way that there is enough time for sightseeing and relaxing breaks. If you don't want to pack your bags every day and want to be flexible and explore the beauty of the region, this cycle tour on the Young Danube will appeal to you.

Insider tip #1: The most beautiful coffee break on the German Danube Cycle Path

It was really cosy at the Gasthof Eisvogel in Bad Gögging. The "Eisvogel" has been run by the Zwettl family for over 60 years. The shady guest garden is particularly inviting. A cosy old Bavarian attitude to life included!

Insider tip #2: This sight impressed me the most

The Benedictine monastery is located near the Danube breakthrough in the Weltenburger Enge nature reserve and is home to the oldest monastery brewery in the world. The cosy beer garden invites you to take a break with regional delicacies and an award-winning "Barock Dunkel".

Insider tip #3: Marvellous views

I have very fond memories of the Abensberg brewery tour. A brewery tour with tasting is included in the offer. The tour includes a visit to the Kuchlbauer Tower (architectural project by Hundertwasser), which guarantees a marvellous panoramic view over Abensberg.

I hope that I have been able to give you some inspiration for your travel planning with my tips and I would be delighted if you explore the cycling paradise around Bad Gögging with Donau Touristik this year!
