Interview with Viera and Terezia
two receptionists of the 4****Superior MS Primadonna
While our1st-class MS Primadonna is undergoing its winter overhaul, two crew members get an insight into the Linz office centre.
The cheerful receptionists Viera (manager) and Terezia share their experience on board with the staff from our booking and organisation department. Together they discuss past trips and work intensively on customer-orientated services.
Viera and Terezia both grew up in Bratislava. When they are not looking after the guests on the 4****Sup. MS Primadonna, they are exploring the destinations along the Danube. In this interview, they reveal insider tips and how a uniform can lead to funny situations that make us smile.
What is special about your job?
The combination of working with customers and travelling at the same time doesn't come along very often. We find the different guest reactions to the weather particularly varied. For some, rain on holiday is a disaster, for others it's a good reason to relax in the wellness area on board. As the first point of contact for our guests, we always lend our "ear" to any concerns.
What's your favourite way to spend your free time?
When we dock and are off duty, we like to enjoy a cup of coffee in the local cafés. A walk along the Danube keeps us moving.
Is there a funny incident that you experience time and time again?
As soon as we slip out of our uniform, guests often don't recognise us. We meet them on the street and greet them in a friendly manner - the reaction is one of questioning faces 😉 - What a difference a uniform can make.
Do you have any special recommendations for our trips to Budapest?
Away from the traffic, Margaret Island is well worth a visit. The hourly water feature of the music fountain and the rose garden are a popular attraction there.
We can also highly recommend the "Double Shot Coffee and Brunch" in Budapest. They have the best brownies in the city. If you like things a little more touristy, you should visit the New York Café. Although this magnificent coffee house is one of the most beautiful in the world, it is very overpriced (a cup of coffee costs €9!!).
