Interview with the hotel manager
Milos Cvetkovic is the hotel manager on the 4****Sup. MS Primadonna and is usually travelling on the Danube during the summer months. As hotel manager, he is the heart of the Danube cruise ship, so to speak, and has an overview of all activities on board.
In this interview, he talks about everyday life on board and his favourite experiences.

What tasks do you take on board and what do you like most about it?
I take responsibility for everything good and bad that happens in our hotel. What I like most is that I can help the guests and employees to feel comfortable - the guests during their holiday and the employees during their work.
How did you get this dream job?
After living in Dubai for two years, I decided to return to Europe. I got the email address for Donautouristik from an acquaintance - and the rest is history. 😊
What makes working on board so special for you?
I am a born nomad. As a child, I travelled the world with my parents, and as a young man I went my own way. I can't stay in one place for long - I have to be on the move. Working on a ship allows me to combine my nomadic nature with the needs of modern man. On board, I do a job that I love, and the number of kilometres I cover grows every day. 😊
What has been your best experience on board so far?
When I installed Facebook on an elderly lady's mobile phone so that she could wish her granddaughter a happy birthday in a special way.
What is your favourite stretch along the Danube or what are some interesting sections for you?
My favourite part is the Strudengau, I love the quiet, almost enchanted atmosphere there. The landscape is beautiful - not too spectacular, but just right for taking a deep breath. I would love to spend my retirement in this area.
Do you have any tips for travelling along the Danube? (e.g. places worth seeing, special places to stop for refreshments, ...)
I always recommend the longer trips, such as the cruise to the Iron Gate. Travelling through so many different landscapes, cities and countries within two weeks, getting to know so many different cultures, architectures and customs - it really is incredible.
How do you spend your free time? What hobbies/activities do you pursue?
In my free time, I talk to my family on the phone, work out or read. Sometimes I just go out on the terrace and enjoy nature. You should just be grateful that you can work and earn money at the same time, but also travel and enjoy the landscapes along the Danube.
