      Day 1, Arrival
      To Passau. Adjustment of rental bikes at the Donau Touristik-infopoint.

      Day 2, Schlögen (40 km)
      To Obernzell and Engelhartszell (abbey) and further on to Freizell; motor boat tour (Zille) on the Danube; be your own captain. Overnight at the Schlögener Schlinge.

      Day 3, Linz (56 km)
      Romantic through the barely populated valley to Aschach; via Eferding (castle, church) into the EU-capital of culture 2009. An additional night enables a visit of the many sights including a € 10.- city-shopping-voucher.

      Day 4, Perg/Wallsee (48 km)
      Up to the Pöstlingberg with the steepest adhesion-railway of Europe (approximately € 7.- return); to Enns, Austria's oldest city and to this day's destination by ferry.

      Day 5, Maria Taferl/Marbach (58 km)
      Through the region "Strudengau" with the romantic "Hößgang" to Ybbs and to the destination, the second largest pilgrimage city of Austria.

      Day 6, Krems (49 km)
      Past Melk (abbey) to Spitz, by ferry to Arnsdorf and further on into the UNESCO-world-heritage-city Krems.

      Day 7, Vienna (74 km)
      Into the city of flowers, Tulln and further on to Vienna-Nussdorf, the beginning of the city of Vienna. Restitution of rental bikes and by metro (payable on spot) to the hotel.

      Day 8, journey home
      Return transfer by bus or train to Passau, or with our ship MS Kaiserin Elisabeth (from Vienna 8 a.m.; to Passau 1 p.m. of the following day including transfer hotel - ship in Vienna; please advise with the booking).

      The double-city Krems-Stein, that celebrated its 1000-year anniversary in 1995, is one of the oldest cities of Austria. The terraces, the climate and the location were significant for the development as center in the Danube area.

      Maria Taferl

      Maria Taferl is a small city with 852 inhabitants in the district Melk in Lower Austria. It's one of the most important pilgrimage cities of Austria.


      Perg is a small Upper Austrian city in the Lower Mühlviertel at the Northern border of the Machland with 7619 inhabitants. The city is located 35 km Eastern of Linz and 7 km in the North of the Danube at the Naarn at an altitude of 250 m above sealevel.


      Linz is the capital of Upper Austria. Worth visiting is the cathedral, the castle, main square, Pöstlingberg, Lentos museum of arts and the AEC - museum of the future.


      The "Schlögener Sling", one of Upper Austria's natural wonders can be admired from the Schögener point of view.


      Passau is located at the border to Austria, as well as at the merging of the rivers Danube, Inn and Ilz and is therefore called "city of three rivers".

      Our rental bikes are selected to meet our stringent standards and special requirements. They are quality bikes manufactured by “Schauff” (Germany), “Kettler” (Germany), “KTM” (Austria) and “Kalkhoff” (Germany). The bikes come with either 8 speed hub gear (with back-pedal coaster brake) or 24 gear freewheel (left-lever handlebar brake). Comfortable ‘Selle- Royale’ or ‘SQLab Ergonomic’ saddles (wide or normal width) are provided in both male or female versions. Sometimes on center tours along the Etsch- und Drava-Cycle routes, we may use other makes besides those listed above. Our hired bikes also come fitted with panniers on both sides.


      The Danube-experience-ticket , worth € 98.- per person is included in this tour.
