The seaside resort of Mamaia

The seaside resort is the most visited holiday resort in Romania, attracting thousands of Romanian and foreign tourists every year. Mamaia is a district of Constanta built on a sandbank 8 km long and 300 m wide, between the Black Sea and Siutghiol. The very long beach has a width of up to 250 m with very fine sand, ideal for walking and sunbathing. Along the beach there are shops, restaurants and terraces.

The "Telegondola" cable car

The modern cable car was opened on 16 July 2004. It has a length of 2.1 km and connects the Casino with the Hotel Perla. It travels at a height of 50 m and the journey takes 7 minutes at a speed of 5 m per second.

The old town, the harbours, the stories of the historical buildings, the beautiful seaside resorts, the monasteries and the Roman ruins of Dobruja as well as the unspoilt beaches of Chituc are definitely worth a visit.

Culinary delights

You should not miss the delicious traditional dishes such as the puff pastry (Placinta Dobrogeana), the fish dishes (Saramura), the stew (Tochitura Dobrogeana) and other specialities from Dobruja.
