THE DANUBE CYCLE TRACK – THE MOTHER OF ALL LONG DISTANCE CYCLE TRACKS
Experience the DANUBE CYCLE TRACK with numerous sights. Since 1982 bikers cycle here light-heartedly on the 313 km long distance from PASSAU to VIENNA. From 312 m sea level the route leads always flat along the DANUBE to the destination on 183 m sea level. The start of the well-known CYCLE TRACK lies in Passau. At the beginning of the CYCLE TOUR you reach the Schlögener Schlinge (on of the most famous bends along the DANUBE) passing Obernzell and Engelhartszell. After a comfortable break it goes along the DANUBE CYCLE TRACK past Baroque villages - like Aschach - to Linz. On the DANUBE CYCLE TRACK you cycle further on past Enns to Mauthausen and Grein. Here beginns the Strudengau – in former times one of the most dangerous parts of the DANUBE for all ships. Then the CYCLE HOLIDAY leads to the best-known DANUBE PART - into the WACHAU. After passing the WACHAU you now reach the open "Tullner Basin" and shortly before Vienna the extensions of the Viennese Forest begin and you cycle on the DANUBE CYCLE TRACK past Stockerau and Greifenstein into the town of Waltz VIENNA.
