Our cycling tours are individual holidays - with accurately prepared travel documents, you can experience the cycling region at your own pace and with flexibility.

The fitness levels and quality of the cycle routes are indicated for each tour.

Fitness levels 1 - 5:

1 = Easy to cycle, suitable for everyone.
2 = Easy routes, can be mastered with little effort.
3 = For "leisure cyclists" with normal fitness, occasional stages with gradients.
4 = Somewhat more demanding routes, for cyclists of average fitness.
5 = For active cyclists with several hilly stages. Basic fitness required!

Quality of cycle routes 1 - 5:

The quality of the cycle routes is based on personal experience, the quality of signposting and the condition of the cycle routes as well as on ADFC standards.

You will be able to cycle comfortably individually and flexibly from one place to another mainly along the most beautiful of river landscapes, with the opportunity to explore many places of interest on an increasingly newer network of cycle paths. You set the pace, divide the day freely into stages and decide for yourself when you want to reach your destination.

We offer a luggage service with pick-up at 9:00 am (sometimes earlier at 8:30 am) and delivery by 6:00 pm at the latest. In addition, there is the return transfer back to the point of departure, often comfortably by bus from the hotel or else by train.

Don't forget that the return transport of your own bikes, mostly the parking at the starting location and the rental bike in different sizes is included.

An E-bike can also be rented for an extra charge.

You can spend a more relaxed holiday in a region with many cycling and excursion possibilities. You stay in the same top comfort hotel every night during your trip, so there is no need to pack your suitcase every day. And everything has been tested by us ON THE SITE so we can provide you with numerous useful tips. You will receive sophisticated route suggestions that you can then plan or adapt your day individually. Detailed descriptions of the day and the corresponding map, as well as GPS data show you the way. If you don't feel like cycling in the morning, the mostly 4^☼☼☼☼hotels offer many amenities to relax whether in the wellness area, sunbathing lawn or the guest garden. The rental bike is included in the one-centre-bike tour. An E-bike can be rented for an extra charge.

Detailed cycling booklets are provided for distance tours containing accurate maps and numerous insider tips. GPS data is available for all distance tours as well as for many one-centre bike tours, so you can easily find your way with your mobile phone.

All prices listed are per person in a double room with shower/WC; and additional costs are included. However, some municipalities charge an overnight tax of up to € 3.50 per person/night.

If you find an extra note in the price section, then these charges are not included. The day of arrival determines the seasonal price. For bookings without bus/train return transfer: € 15,- discount per person.

Groups (invoicing and payment via one group tour applicant) receive a discount on the total tour price of 2% from 5 full payers, 3% from 10 full payers and 5% from 15 full payers upwards (plus 1 free place for the 21st person). The latter does not apply to cycle cruises and one-centre tours - please enquire separately. Changes to bookings with regard to participants, boarding, accommodation, transport, itinerary or offer are generally only possible up to 5 days before the start of the tour. A rebooking fee of € 25,-/booking will be charged; from 10 days before arrival € 50,-/booking. New bookings later than one week before arrival are subject to a surcharge of € 25,-/booking.

The number of sun symbols ☼ listed is based on our own experience and the star-rating of the national hotel categories. If named hotels are fully booked for distance tours, we make reservations of equal value if at all possible and refund € 5,- per person per night. If this happens to be only one category below the anticipated hotel rating or a hotel in a neighbouring town (maximum 10 km) is available instead, we offer a discount of € 10,- per person per night. You will receive your hotel list approximately 2 weeks before arrival. Half board is partially provided in neighbouring restaurants of your hotel. Our partner establishments are committed to safe hygienic measures against COVID-19. Please also note the official regulations of the respective countries and federal states will be in force, which may mean that services have to be adapted to the current situation (e.g. packed lunch instead of served breakfast, restricted wellness area, etc.).

Especially with 4^☼☼☼☼Hotels there can be some variation in performance; where everything is found to be absolutely up to standard, we award our quality company logo for "best performance" (logo only visible in the catalogue with the respective offer). As convenient as it is to travel by car, a suitable parking space at the point of departure is often not easy to find in many places - from Lake Constance to Nauders/Etsch as well as Passau or Dresden. However, we have taken care of this on your behalf. In Passau, in Nauders on the Etsch cycle path or in Rothenburg on the Altmühl cycle path we have rented private properties for your use.

According to precise specifications, the cycle manufacturers of Schauff (Remagen), Kalkhoff (Cloppenburg), Kettler (North Rhine-Westphalia) and KTM (Mattighofen) make our 7/8-speed hub and 21/24-speed freewheel bikes in different frame sizes; please state your body size when booking. In Passau, Linz, on Lake Constance and on the Altmühl, a 1.5 l mineral water bottle is included when you rent a bike.

Electric bikes - equally important to the bike are the batteries and careful maintenance which guarantees a range of at least a 70 km when riding on the flat. On one-centre bike tours sometimes this might only be 50 km in range; The bike’s unladen weight is only 19 kg. The bikes are available in a 45, 50, 55 or 60 cm frame height. Freewheel, 2 brakes, suspended handlebars, etc.; and ladies' models with lower entry frames are available on request. All our e-bikes are easy to ride even without the electric drive. Please note that no e-bike is available for extension nights in addition to the scheduled tour.

Children's bikes can be booked in sizes 16, 20, 24 inches (26 already being an adult size). Please indicate age and body sizes. A trailer (Kiddy-Van) for 1 to 2 children with a maximum of 40 kg can be booked for a hire fee of € 100,-.

Own trailers are available for dogs up to 40 kg. and incur a cleaning fee of € 25,-. We have many dog-friendly hotels along the Lake Constance Cycle Route. Please enquire with our travel specialists.

Children’s Tagalong trailer bikes are available for our youngest riders from 6 years/about 100 cm (with chain guard, mudguard etc.) and can be booked in connection with a rental bike for € 100. Child seats are provided without charge.

Specially made for us: The DT Superbike from FOCUS or Schauff/Remagen (24-speed freewheel, men's version, available at no extra charge).

On the journey back to the starting point, transporting your own bikes can often prove to be a burden for you. However, we transport them back for you on the routes Vienna - Passau, Regensburg - Rothenburg/Colmberg, Mainz/Koblenz - Trier/Perl/Saarbrücken as well as at Drau, Main, Saale, Elbe for € 26,- and Verona/Riva del Garda/Arco - Nauders/Schlanders (Etsch) for € 34,- partly with overnight transport or on the trailer of the transfer bus.

From Vienna (Saturday), Regensburg/Altmühl (Saturday; June to August Friday/Saturday/Sunday), Klopeinersee and Klagenfurt/Krumpendorf/Drau (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) as well as Verona, Riva del Garda, Arco/Etsch (Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday), Magdeburg and Wittenberg/Elbe (Friday/Saturday), Magdeburg/Saale (Sunday/Monday) we usually pick you up directly from the hotel and bring you back to your parked car. This is a service you will be sure to appreciate on the last day of your trip!

The rental fee is included in the package price, unless otherwise stated in the offer. If the rental bike is not used, we grant a discount of € 80,- for using your own bike. Please note that for some one-centre tours and bike cruises no discount is possible - please ask our travel specialists.

For the rental e-bike there is a regular surcharge of + € 100,-. Availability is not always possible for all tours and for some tours e-bikes with a lower range can be booked at a lower surcharge.

NEW! In 2022, for the first time, we offer you the opportunity to try out an e-bike tandem (made by Schauff/Remagen): This can be booked on request up to 5 weeks before arrival; surcharge/stay: €200.-.

A deposit of 10 % of the total price must be paid upon completion of the booking.
Final payments must be made at the earliest 20 days before departure without further request.

Bank transfer
In the European area, please use the account stated on your invoice, made out to Donau Touristik GesmbH.
For payments from outside the European Union, please note that payment must be received in Euros (€) and any conversion or bank charges will be borne by the ordering party.
Exceptions are payments from Switzerland CHF (SFR), these can be made to the Swiss bank account indicated on your invoice.
