Donau Touristik-Team

Management team

As a cycling travel specialist, DONAU TOURISTIK has already more than a quarter of a century of experience. Quality is our motto - competent advice and perfect organisation with a comprehensive range of offers in Europe.

With the company-owned river cruise ship MS PRIMADONNA, cycling holidays next to and on the Danube are made possible for you. The Austrian Federal Minister of Economy and Labour awards the Federal Coat of Arms under strict selection criteria. In 2002, DONAU TOURISTIK was honoured with this because of its nationwide leading and generally respected position in the relevant branch of the economy

COMMERCIAL COUNCIL Manfred Traunmüller, Managing Director

Cycling, my passion for life! In 1981, together with the mayor Walter Steiner from Ottensheim, the idea was born to open up and develop the towpaths along the Danube for cycle tourism. We installed the first signposting on the Danube Cycle Path and today we are by far the largest provider of cycle tours in Austria. I cycle 7,000 to 9,000 kilometres a year - whether on my daily commute or, more beautifully, on tours across Europe; all the cycle routes on offer I cycled, tested by me and also constantly improved by me. As a contemporary with an interest in history, destinations with a unique history are particularly appealing.

My personal holiday tip: Combine a Danube cruise with healthy exercise on a bike. We especially recommend the cycle cruise from Passau to Vienna and Hainburg on our 1st-class ship MS Primadonna.

Mag. Pamela Nösslböck

General Manager, HEAD OF RESERVATIONS (OPERATING), FINANCE AND HUMAN RESOURCES

I have been working for Donau Touristik since 2013. My area of responsibility includes the management of the accounting, controlling and human resources departments. After graduating from the commercial academy in Rohrbach, I spent a year as an exchange student in Chihuahua, Mexico. I then studied economics and business education at the JKU in Linz. I started as an assistant in the human resources department while studying, and after a few very instructive years in the company, I am proud to be a general manager, responsible for finances and the supervision of almost 200 employees.

My personal holiday tip: The one-centre bike tour around Bad Gögging. The comfort hotel, in a quiet location, offers a spacious wellness area with indoor and outdoor thermal pool. The region around Bad Gögging is ideal for exploring by bike. Excellent and easy cycle paths characterise the landscape. This cycling tour also offers many advantages for culture lovers. This organised cycling tour is suitable for all pleasure cyclists and families, as The Monarch Hotel has some family rooms. The day tours are designed in such a way that there is enough time for sightseeing and breaks.

Jörg Preimesberger

GENERAL MANAGER SOURCING/Purchasing

I have a degree in tourism management and I am founder of the company, so I have been with Donau Touristik GmbH since the very beginning (1996) and am responsible in the management for EDP/IT, hotel purchasing and the creation of new cycling tour guides.

After my theoretical education at the tourism schools in Bad Ischl, I gained years of experience at home and abroad. Most recently, before founding Donau Touristik GmbH, I was Austria's youngest tourism director. Furthermore, in Weikersdorf am Steinfelde (near Wiener Neustadt), together with my wife Elli, I run one of the largest tournament riding stables in Austria (with 180 horse boxes), and a restaurant with 90 seats, to a certain extent as a balance to my office work in Linz.

My motto is that every employee must go on a bike tour at least once a year, just like our guests. I also cycle one of the tours from the Donau Touristik programme every year, as a kind of quality control, or explore a new cycle tour for the next year.

My personal holiday tip: The Lake Constance Cycle Path; there is hardly any other cycle tour in Europe with so many natural and cultural highlights and top hotels as here around Lake Constance.

Reinhard Falkner

General Manager Operating

As a trained cook and office administrator, I have been part of the Donau Touristik family for almost 20 years. I learned how to handle our bike tours here from scratch - including taking part in guided bike tours or bike deliveries with the company's own bus. In the meantime, I am responsible for the handling of our bike tours in the largest team. From arranging the contracts with our service providers to preparing the travel documents. Together with my team I make sure that our customers have fond memories of their cycle holiday and that everything runs "smoothly" during the bike tour.

Besides cycling, my hobbies include reading and being active in nature. Since I live near the beautiful Aschach/Danube, I often cycle with my family along the Danube cycle path between Passau and Ottensheim - a perfect balance to the sometimes stressful working day.

My personal holiday tip: the Altmühl Cycle Path. Here you will find everything you need for a relaxing cycling holiday: beautiful, family-run hotels and a unique combination of nature and cultural experiences along the route. As a fan of castles and palaces, I was most impressed by Colmberg Castle, which has been beautifully converted into a hotel - on our Altmühl Anniversary Tour you start from Hotel Burg Colmberg!

Claudia Stegh

General Manager Sales

After graduating from the College for Tourism Marketing and Management in Bad Leonfelden, I started my career at Donau Touristik in 2005. I can count all of Donau Touristik's cycling destinations throughout Europe among my specialties. Over the years I was entrusted with customer support  with all of our bestseller-destinations such as Altmühl, Lake Constance, Elbe, Main, Moselle, Drau, Etsch, the Danube from its origin in Donaueschingen to its delta in the Black Sea and of course our numerous attractive one-centre tours and rounded off my know-how with many exploratory tours and hotel visits!

For a few years, I was able to contribute my "cycling professional" knowledge as head of the operating department. Now I am turning to my new and inspiring task in our sales department, where I deal on the one hand with the portfolio in our appealing cycling catalogues and on the other hand with the support up to product innovation of our travel agency partners!

In my free time, I like to be outdoors and count travelling, reading, culture and cooking among my passions!

My personal holiday tip: Experience the sheer endless vineyards along the Moselle Cycle Path - no cycling lover should miss this wonderfully unique experience!

Pietro de Rosa

Head of Gastronomy

Since 2013, I have been part of the Donau Touristik family and head of catering and thus responsible for the entire organisation, quality assurance and service philosophy of the on-board catering on the MS Primadonna as well as for the company kitchen.

After a classical apprenticeship as a chef and waiter, I gained many years of experience with renowned chefs in Germany and abroad. In 1991 I cooked my first toque as the youngest chef at that time. After completing the F&B management course, I switched to hotel management, first as F&B manager and then as deputy director.

I find relaxation in my kitchen garden and on long bike tours.

My personal holiday tip: The cycling holiday Passau - Budapest with the MS Primadonna; explore 4 countries with impressive landscapes and sights in only 8 days. An active holiday combined with luxurious relaxation on board the MS Primadonna. Take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy the fascinating scenery of an on/off cruise in the evening at larger cities in the Danube Arena.

Stefanie Grill

Teamlead Ship department and general manager

I have been with Donau Touristik since 2008 and was responsible for excursion shipping with the MS Kaiserin Elisabeth from day one until it was sold. Since the purchase of the MS Primadonna in 2015, I have been responsible for the operational handling, starting with the booking, to the organisation of the shore programmes and the moderation on board.

I enjoy organising a wonderful holiday for our customers. I also enjoy travelling with our MS Primadonna myself and try to come on board as often as possible. I use the time on board not only to talk to the customers on the spot in order to constantly improve our offer. I also to simply enjoy the time on board. My personally most beautiful journey with the MS Primadonna was the cruise from Vienna to the Black Sea.

My personal holiday tip: the cycling cruise with the MS Primadonna from Vienna to Belgrade. This holiday offers everything: organisation from one source, exercise in the fresh air during the daily cycling stages, relaxation as well as excellent cuisine and service. Unique for cycling cruises and our plus: Five included entertainment evenings in the on-board theatre provide variety!

Claudia Reiter

MARKETING MANAGER & CENTRAL DEPARTMENTS

My heart beats for tourism ... about 10 years ago I started at Donau Touristik and was able to put my training in marketing and tourism management at HLT Bad Leonfelden into practice with great pleasure. My area of responsibility is looking after the central departments with the secretariat of the management, customer service telephone, real estate and in the management of the marketing and graphics department.

Working where others go on holiday - it is my concern to bring our customers closer to the passion for cycling, the healthy exercise in the fresh air and the variety of the multifaceted cycling destinations.

My personal holiday tip: pure nature along the Altmühl cycle path from Rothenburg ob der Tauber, an enchanting town with many half-timbered houses and medieval flair. Along the way is also Ansbach, well worth a visit, with its impressive Hohenzollern residence. From Gunzenhausen at the Altmühlsee and Eichstätt in the middle of the nature park, we also offer very popular one-centre tours, where the unique region is explored individually, without changing hotels.

Martina Walcher

DEPUTY TEAMLEAD Operating

Since joining Donautouristik in 2003, I have been working in the operating department. For many years, my area of responsibility the Danube Cycle Path from Passau to Vienna. But I have also been responsible for the organisation of various one-centre bike tours.

After my education at the Federal College for Tourism in Linz and 2 years in tourism businesses in Vorarlberg and Tyrol, I finally found my vocation in my hometown Linz, at Donautouristik.

Even as a child I enjoyed cycling holidays with the family. Even today, I can't imagine life without a bike, even just for my commute to work. And with the Danube Cycle Path right on my doorstep, I'm always exploring parts of it. Other hobbies: excursions into nature and hiking with family and dog.

My personal holiday tip: The Danube Cycle Path has everything you need, wonderful landscapes, warm hospitality and there is always something new to discover.

Christa Gutenbrunner

TEAMLEAD ACCOUNTING

Since joining Donau Touristik in 1999, I have been working in the accounting department. I love working with numbers and am responsible for payroll accounting, cost accounting and reporting.

I find my balance in nature, where I enjoy hiking and cycling.

My personal holiday tip: Visit the Elbe cycle path, experience the unique natural scenery, an interplay of forests, meadows and small lakes. Many sights lie along the way. Discover the art treasures from Bad Schandau to Magdeburg.  The traditional hospitality of the Saxons is unique.

Kapitän Radomir Bobokovic

1st Captain of the MS Primadonna

I have been sailing the Nibelungen River between the Black Sea and Passau for a quarter of a century. Initially on cargo ships and for the last 15 years or so I have been a captain with Donau Touristik. None of the ships has excited me as much as the MS Primadonna. With a displacement of 2,175 tonnes, she is the third largest Danube ship and also the only river catamaran on the Danube. This width results in a unique feeling of space: instead of narrow corridors, we offer an atrium 8 m wide where the approximately 170 passengers meet.

Welcome on board - your Rade Bobokovic, 1st captain and head of the 4 captains in total of the third largest Danube ship.
