Bamberg


Bamberg is a university city in Upper Franconia located at the mouth of the Regnitz in the Main. The city was built on seven hills, the historic city center has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993.

Cyclists can best reach Bamberg via the Main Cycle Path, which is also the starting point for excursions on the Aischt Valley Cycle Path. In Bamberg there is a bicycle parking garage at the tourist information office as well as parking spaces and lockers for luggage.

Hundreds of river cruise ships also dock in Bamberg's port every year. The Main-Danube Canal begins in Bamberg and leads via Nuremberg to the Danube in Kelheim.
