Top sights
The most famous sight in the city is the Baba Vida Fortress, the only completely preserved medieval fortress in Bulgaria. Baba Vida is the most important fortress in north-western Bulgaria. Today the building houses a museum of the same name.
Culture & Events
Sami Pasha 1854 is from his collection a war and weapons museum on the European model. There you can see different kinds of pistols, military uniforms, Austrian and Slavic field insignia and much more.
Other sightseeing tips: St. Panteleimon Church, St. Dimitar Cathedral or Konako Museum.
