Our tip: Visit the New Palace in Potsdam!

The construction of the New Palace began in 1763 after the end of the Seven Years' War under Frederick the Great and work was completed in 1769. It is considered the last important Baroque palace complex in Prussia. Frederick had not planned it as a royal residence, but as a castle for guests of his court. Kaiser Wilhelm II made the New Palace his summer residence. Even today, the bedroom of the imperial couple can be visited.
