Route
Day 1, Arrival in Bregenz

Car park West/Pfänderbahn (approximately € 10,-/day on site, depending to availability) or in the car park (registration required when booking, € 160,- for 9 days per car). Bike hire (if booked) at the Donau Touristik-Infopoint.

Day 2, Egnach/Güttingen (46/56 km)

Cycle past the beautiful parks by the lake to Mehrerau, the only active monastery in the region. Continue through the Altenrhein nature reserve to the day's destination.

Day 3, Gailingen/Stein am Rhein (52/62 km)

Along the Untersee to the medieval town of Stein am Rhein. With its famous facade paintings, this is probably one of the most beautiful small towns.

Day 4, Rhine Falls (30/50 km)

On the Rhine cycle path to Schaffhausen (Albrecht Dürer fortress Munot) and to the largest waterfall in Europe; back. Overnight stay as on the previous day.

Day 5, Constance/Kreuzlingen (56/46 km)

Via the Höri peninsula to Radolfzell and the Mettnau peninsula to the day's destination.

Day 6, Reichenau Island (33 km)

By bike to Mannenbach; by ferry (every 2 hours) to the island of Reichenau; round trip to the imperial monastery; return via the Wollmatinger Ried.

Day 7, Friedrichshafen (47 km by bike, 15 ferry minutes)

Individual visit to the flower island of Mainau (bookable); to the ferry Wallhausen - Überlingen and via Meersburg to the Zeppelin city.

Day 8, Bregenz (54 km)

Through the Argen estuary nature reserve via Laimnau to Lindau and back to the festival city.

You spend the night in the listed very good middle-class and 1st-class hotels or equivalent. This cycling holiday can be started either in Bregenz or Friedrichshafen. During the Bregenz Festival from July 16th to August 17th, you may also stay in the neighbouring town of Hard am See, Wolfurt, Lustenau or Dornbirn.
