DONAU TOURISTIK-TEAM
As a cycle tour specialist, DONAU TOURISTIK stands for cycling holidays from the very beginning with a quarter of a century of experience. Quality is our motto - competent advice and perfect organisation with a comprehensive range of offers in Europe.
With the company-owned river cruise ship MS PRIMADONNA, you can enjoy a cycling holiday along and on the Danube. The Austrian Federal Minister of Economics and Labour awards the Federal Coat of Arms under strict selection criteria. In 2002, DONAU TOURISTIK was honoured with this award due to its leading and generally respected position in the relevant economic sector throughout Austria.
Commercial Council Manfred Traunmüller
Managing Director
Cycling, my passion for life! Back in 1981, together with the mayor of Ottensheim, Walter Steiner, the idea was born to open up and develop the towpaths along the Danube for cycle tourism. We installed the first signposting along the Danube cycle path and today we are by far the largest provider of cycle tours in Austria. I cycle between 7,000 and 9,000 kilometres a year - whether on my daily commute to work or, more beautifully, on tours across Europe; all the cycle routes we offer are mostly ridden, tested and constantly improved by me. As a historically interested contemporary, destinations with a unique history are particularly appealing.
My personal holiday tip: Combine a Danube cruise with healthy exercise on your bike. We particularly recommend the cycle cruise from Passau to Vienna and Hainburg on our 1st-class ship MS Primadonna.
Pamela Nösslböck
Authorised signatory for the entire company including Head of Reservations (Operating), Finance and Human Resources
I have been working for Donau Touristik since 2013. My area of responsibility includes managing the Accounting, Controlling and Human Resources departments. After graduating from the commercial academy in Rohrbach, I spent a year as an exchange student in Chihuahua, Mexico. I then studied economics and business education at the JKU in Linz. I started as an assistant in the HR department alongside my studies, and after a few very instructive years in the company, I am proud to be responsible for the finances and the supervision of almost 200 employees as an authorised signatory.
My personal holiday tip: The one-centre bike tour around Bad Gögging. The comfort hotel, in a quiet location, offers a spacious wellness area with indoor and outdoor thermal pools. The region around Bad Gögging is ideal for exploring by bike. Excellent and easy cycle paths characterise the landscape. This cycle tour also offers many advantages for culture lovers. This organised cycle tour is suitable for all leisure cyclists and families, as Hotel The Monarch has a number of family rooms. The day tours are designed in such a way that there is enough time for sightseeing and relaxing breaks.
Jörg Preimesberger
Authorised representative purchasing
I have a degree in tourism management and I am also the founder of the company, so I have been with Donau Touristik GmbH since the very beginning (1996) and am responsible for hotel purchasing, new product design and the creation of new cycling guides.
After my theoretical training at the tourism schools in Bad Ischl (Salzkammergut), I gained years of experience at home and abroad. Most recently, before founding Donau Touristik GmbH, I was Austria's youngest tourism director. I also run one of the largest show riding stables in Austria (with 180 horse boxes) in Weikersdorf am Steinfelde (near Wiener Neustadt) with my wife Elli, and a restaurant with 90 seats, as a kind of balance to my office work in Linz.
My motto is that every employee should go on a cycle tour at least once a year, just like our guests. I also cycle one of the tours from the Donau Touristik programme every year, as a kind of quality control, or explore a new cycle tour for the following year.
My personal holiday tip: the Lake Constance cycle path; there is hardly any other cycle tour in Europe with as many natural and cultural highlights and top hotels as here around Lake Constance.

Authorised signatory processing
As a trained chef and office administrator, I have been part of the Donau Touristik family for almost 20 years. I learnt how to manage our cycle tours "from the ground up" here - including taking part in guided cycle tours or delivering bikes with the company's own bus. I am now responsible for organising our cycle tours as part of the largest team. From agreeing the contracts with our service providers to preparing the travel documents, I work with my team to ensure that our customers have fond memories of the best weeks of the year and that everything runs smoothly during the cycle tour.
In addition to cycling, my hobbies include reading and outdoor activities. As I live near the beautiful Aschach/Danube, I often cycle with my family along the Danube cycle path between Passau and Ottensheim - a perfect balance to the sometimes stressful working day.
My personal holiday tip: the Altmühl cycle path. Here you will find everything you need for a relaxing cycling holiday: beautiful, family-run hotels and a unique combination of natural and cultural experiences along the route. As a fan of castles and palaces, I was most impressed by Colmberg Castle, which has been beautifully converted into a hotel - on our Altmühl anniversary tour, you start from Colmberg Castle Hotel!
Martina Walcher
Deputy Team Leader
Since I joined Donautouristik in 2003, I have been working in the operating bike department. My area of responsibility for many years has been our "home route" - the Danube cycle path from Passau to Vienna. But I have also been responsible for organising various one-centre bike tours.
After my education at the Federal College for Tourism in Linz and 2 years in tourism businesses in Vorarlberg and Tyrol, I finally found my calling in my home town of Linz, at Donautouristik.
Even as a child, cycling holidays with the family were on the agenda. Even today, I can't imagine life without a bike, even just for the journey to work. And with the Danube cycle path on my doorstep, I'm always exploring parts of it. Other hobbies: trips into the countryside and walks with my family and dog.
My personal holiday tip: The Danube Cycle Path has everything you need, wonderful landscapes, warm hospitality and there is always something new to discover.
Stefanie Grill (formerly Bohak)
Team leader ship department and authorised signatory
I have been with Donau Touristik since 2008 and was responsible for excursion cruises on the MS Kaiserin Elisabeth from my first day as a trainee until it was sold. Since the purchase of the MS Primadonna in 2015, I have been responsible for operations, from booking and organising the shore programmes to moderating on board.
I enjoy organising a wonderful holiday for our customers. I also enjoy travelling on our MS Primadonna myself and try to come on board as often as possible. I use my time on board not only to talk to the customers on site in order to constantly improve our offer, but also to simply enjoy the time on board. My personal favourite trip on the MS Primadonna was the cruise from Vienna to the Black Sea.
My personal holiday tip: the cycle cruise with the MS Primadonna to the Pustza. This tour differs from the classic cycle cruise as you cycle different routes and get new impressions of the Danube. Trips with the Primadonna offer everything: organisation from a single source, exercise in the fresh air during the daily cycling stages, relaxation and excellent cuisine and service. Unique for cycle cruises and our plus: five included entertainment evenings in the on-board theatre provide variety!
Sandra Lanzersdorfer, MSc
Head of Marketing and Graphics, Qualitymanagement
Since 2020, I have been part of Donau Touristik. During my education at HLW Rohrbach, with a focus on Leisure Management & Wellness, I discovered my enthusiasm for tourism and working with people.
After graduating, I first gained two years of experience in the gastronomy sector before joining Donau Touristik in 2020. Here, I have been able to continuously develop both professionally and personally and steadily expand my areas of responsibility. Alongside my work in Human Resources, I completed a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management at Alpen-Adria University Klagenfurt in 2023. For me, the combination of solid theoretical knowledge and practical application provides a valuable foundation for viewing people, processes, and organizational development in a holistic way. Today, I work in HR and lead the Marketing & Graphic Design as well as the Quality Management departments—roles in which I particularly appreciate the diversity of tasks.
In my free time, I enjoy being active outdoors. Cycling and hiking, in particular, allow me to switch off and recharge. Spending time in the fresh air is the perfect balance to everyday life.
My personal vacation tip: The tour “Etsch – the Most Beautiful” starting in Nauders is ideal for combining nature experiences with relaxed cycling. The route leads through varied landscapes, past orchards, historic towns, and Mediterranean flair—perfect for anyone who wants to experience the Etsch River at its most beautiful.
Christa Gutenbrunner
Team Leader Accounting
Since joining Donau Touristik in 1999, I have been working in the accounting department. I love working with numbers and am responsible for payroll accounting, cost accounting and reporting.
I find my balance in nature, where I enjoy hiking and cycling.
My personal holiday tip: visit the Elbe cycle path, experience the unique natural scenery, an interplay of forests, meadows and small lakes. There are many sights along the way. Discover the art treasures from Bad Schandau to Magdeburg and the traditional hospitality of the Saxons is unique.
Captain Radomir Bobokovic
1st captain of the MS Primadonna and enthusiastic hunter
I have been travelling the Nibelungen River between the Black Sea and Passau for a quarter of a century. Initially on cargo ships and for the last 15 years or so I have been a captain with Donau Touristik. None of the ships has inspired me as much as the MS Primadonna. With a displacement of 2,175 tonnes, it is the third largest Danube ship and also the only river catamaran on the Danube." - This width results in a unique feeling of space: instead of narrow corridors, we offer an 8 metre wide atrium where the 170 or so passengers meet.
Welcome on board - your Rade Bobokovic, 1st captain and head of the 4 captains of the third largest Danube ship.
