Route
Sunday, Arrival in Bad Schandau

Free parking at the train station, Park & Ride, or hotel underground garage (€ 18,- per day on site). Bike handover. Welcome menu. Overnight stay at a 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

Monday, Dresden (50 km)

On the Elbe Cycle Route to the Bastei and Rathen. Individual visit to Central Europe's model railway. Continue to Pillnitz (sightseeing) and to the day's destination; city tour of Dresden until 5 PM. Overnight stay at a 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

Tuesday, Meissen (34 km by bike, 28 minutes by train)

By bike to Radebeul and with the Lößnitzdackel to Moritzburg (optional castle visit). Through Friedewald to Wackerbarth Castle (guided tour & wine tasting) and on to the day's destination. Overnight stay at a 3☼☼☼ hotel.

Wednesday, Torgau (74 km)

Tour of Albrechtsburg. On the Elbe Cycle Route past the vineyards to Kreinitz and on to Mühlberg/Elbe (picnic near the castle from 2:30 PM). Continue to the day's destination. Overnight stay at a 3☼☼☼ hotel.

Thursday, Wittenberg (65 km)

Guided tour of Hartenfels Castle. Along the bike path to the Sunken World near Hemsendorf Water Castle (picnic from around 1 p.m.). Continue to the city of the Reformers. Overnight stay at a 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

Friday, Wörlitz Garden Realm & Dessau (41 km)

Guided tour of the Panorama Museum and Castle Church in Wittenberg. Through the Wörlitz Garden Realm, a unique cultural and park landscape in Europe, to Dessau (Bauhaus architecture, castles). Farewell menu. Overnight stay at a 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

Saturday, Return Journey

Individual train return from Dessau to your home station for € 99,- per person (there and back; within Austria and Germany). Return by train to Bad Schandau (hourly, 1 x change, approximately 4,5 hours) available for € 26,- per person.
Free transport of luggage and personal bikes (by Donautouristik) to Bad Schandau or, if desired, to Linz (pickup at the customer's location).

Arrival and departure service

Train travel from all IC & ICE stations in Germany and Austria to Bad Schandau from € 99,- (there and back) bookable. Recommended train from Linz: 11:54 AM - arrival in Bad Schandau at 6:19 PM with 1 x change.

  • Arrival from Linz Main Station: Drop off your bike & luggage at 8 a.m. (drop-off possible the day before). Trip to Bad Schandau.
  • Departure: Your luggage and your own bike will be transported back to Bad Schandau or Linz.
