Route
Day 1, arrival in Bregenz

Pick up your travel documents and rental bikes (if booked) at the Infopoint Hotel Weisses Kreuz.

Day 2, Horn (36 km)

Enjoy a beautiful bike ride through the parks along the lake, past the festival theater and the lake stage. Continue to Mehrerau, the only active monastery on the Austrian side of Lake Constance. Pass numerous swimming spots and continue to the Bregenzer Ache. Ride through the Altenrhein-Mündung nature reserve to Staad and continue to your destination for the day.

Day 3, Stein am Rhein (45 km by bike, 100 minutes by boat)

Ride along the lake via Güttingen to Kreuzlingen (34 km). From approximately May 4 to October 5, take the 2:27 p.m. boat to Steckborn. Cycle along the Untersee to Stein am Rhein with its magnificent house facades. On days when the boat is not running: train ride from Kreuzlingen to Stein am Rhein (28 minutes by train). In the evening, enjoy a regional 3-course-specialty menu.

Day 4, Rhine Falls and Moos/Radolfzell (49 km by bike, 24 minutes by train)

Take the Rhine Cycle Route to Schaffhausen (Munot Fortress) and Europe's largest waterfall, where you can enjoy an impressive boat trip. Take the train from Schaffhausen back to Stein am Rhein (every half hour) and continue by bike across the Höri peninsula to your destination for the day, Moos/Radolfzell.

Day 5, Konstanz (33 km)

Via Allensbach to the monastery island of Reichenau with a tour of the island and on to the council city of Constance with an ice cream break. Individual sightseeing in the historic old town (e.g., Niederburg district).

Day 6, Mainau Flower Island (14 km)

Plenty of time for a leisurely trip to the famous Mainau Flower Island with extensive exploration. Overnight stay as on the previous day.

Day 7, Friedrichshafen (25 km by bike, 15 minutes by ferry)

Cycle to the ferry to Konstanz/Staad and cross over to Meersburg (new castle, oldest inhabited castle in Germany). Tip: Take a detour to the pile dwellings in Uhldingen (+10 km) and continue on to Hagnau for an enjoyable wine tasting. Then continue via Immenstaad to Friedrichshafen.

Day 8, Bregenz (35 km)

Through the Argenmündung nature reserve to Lindau. Coffee and cake break on the island. Then on to the festival town of Bregenz.

Day 9, Journey home

After breakfast or booking additional nights.
