Route
Day 1, arrival

in Lienz. Depending on availability, public parking is e.g. at the railway station/Ladestraße (approx. € 4,80/day), at the Dolomitenstadion (approx. € 24,-/week) or directly at the hotel (any fees payable on site). Your rental bikes (if booked) will be waiting for you at the hotel.

Day 2, Berg/Dellach, 33/59 km by bike, 37 minutes by train

By train from Lienz to Sillian (hourly service, approx. € 15,- payable on site). On the Drau Cycle Path, along beautiful, secluded sections with a slight downhill gradient, past Lienz to the day's destination. Alternatively: Directly from Lienz to the day's destination (then only 33 km by bike).

Day 3, Spittal/Seeboden, 45 km by bike

On the Drau Cycle Path through the arboreal forest, past the medieval town of Greifenburg and the castles of Neustein and Raggnitz to Lind and Spittal.

Day 4, around lake Millstatt, 41 km by bike

Via Lendorf and Seeboden to Carinthia's second largest lake. Picturesque circular tour via Döbriach with beautiful views of Lake Millstatt and the surrounding mountain ranges.

Day 5, Villach, 38 km by bike

On the banks of the Drau, past excavations from the Roman era in the Carantana Museum. Rothenthurn (castle) and Feistritz to Villach.

Day 6, Krumpendorf/Klagenfurt, 42 km by bike

Follow the cycle path to St. Lambrecht. Take the flat side road (6 km) to Velden. Follow the lakeside path along Lake Wörthersee via Krumpendorf to Klagenfurt.

Day 7, around lake Wörthersee

Around Lake Wörthersee – with beautiful views of Carinthia's largest swimming lake and the surrounding wild and romantic Karawanken mountains. Tip: Stop for coffee in Velden, at the former film castle hotel on Lake Wörthersee.

Day 8, end of bike tour

Departure after breakfast or booking of additional nights.
