to Mühlbach/St. Jakob (near Villach); located in the lovely Rosental valley. Free parking at the hotel. Your rental bike (if booked) will be waiting for you at the hotel.
Day 2, Lake Faaker See (35 km, partly slightly hilly)From the hotel via Dolintschach to Rosegg (individual visit to the castle and/or zoo), continuing along the Drau Cycle Path to Förderlach. To nearby Lake Faaker See, slightly hilly circular tour around the lake – past Faak am See to Drobollach, via Ledenitzen back to the hotel.
Day 3, Villach (45 km, slightly hilly)Upstream along the Drau to Rosegg. Continue via Föderlach to Silbersee (tip: pack your swimming gear and enjoy some peaceful moments at this small, romantic bathing lake – refreshments available!). Continue to the centre of Villach and enjoy some free time for sightseeing. Return via the same route (the route can be shortened individually between Villach and Lind or Velden by train).
Day 4, Lake Ossiach (65 km by bike, 30 minutes by train)From the hotel to Velden and by train (payable on site, approximately € 8,40 per person including bike) to Villach. From there to St. Andrä (Landskron Castle) and past Sattendorf, Steindorf and Ossiach (baroque monastery), you will cycle around Lake Ossiach (somewhat hillier on the south shore). Back in Villach, take the train to Velden (payable on site, approximately € 8,40 per person including bike) and then cycle back to the hotel.
Day 5, Rest day or guided bike tourEnjoy the hotel's excellent facilities and the beauty of the Rosental valley, or take a guided bike tour (bookable directly at the hotel): for example, a 3-country bike tour (Slovenia, Italy, Austria) with a guide and transfer for approximately € 54,00 per person (payable on site).
Day 6, Wörthersee circuit (57 km)From the hotel, cycle upstream along the Drau to Rosegg, from where there is a slight climb to Selpritsch. Continue to Velden and along the north bank – past the well-known holiday resorts of Pörtschach and Krumpendorf – to Klagenfurt. Return along the south bank (Maria Wörth pilgrimage church) to the hotel (the route can be shortened individually between Klagenfurt and Lind or Velden by train).
Day 7, Through the Rosental Valley (40 km)Cycle along the Drau through the beautiful landscape of the Rosental Valley with views of the impressive Karawanken mountain range to the Feistritz reservoir. Return via Ludmannsdorf and Selkach to the hotel.
Day 8, Journey homeAfter breakfast.
