The impressive Velden Castle is the landmark of the town. Built in the 16th century, it now houses a luxurious hotel. The castle impresses with its architecture and the magnificent view of Lake Wörthersee. Lake Wörthersee itself is one of the most beautiful lakes in Austria and a paradise for water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers. Here you can swim, sail, stand-up paddle, or simply relax on the shore and enjoy the surrounding landscape. About an hour’s bike ride from Velden you will find the Pyramidenkogel, a 100-meter-high observation tower offering a spectacular panoramic view of Lake Wörthersee and the surrounding mountains. The tower is a popular excursion destination and also features attractions such as a skywalk, a slide, and even a flying fox. Also worth a visit are the Velden beach promenade, the spa park, and the casino.
