Top sights

A trip on the cable car to the summit of the Gerlitzen Alpe is highly recommended. The view from the summit, numerous hiking trails and Carinthia's largest forest high ropes course ensure a variety of experiences for the whole family. Other excursion destinations include the Landskron Monkey Mountain adventure park and the historic Landskron Castle with its birds of prey flight shows.

Culture & events

Local artists present their jewellery in the Bodensdorf community gallery. Admission is free and well worth a visit for art lovers. For those interested in architecture, a visit to the famous stone house by DI Günther Domenig in Steindorf is recommended. In the village itself, summer lake and village festivals create a convivial atmosphere with music, traditional costumes and dancing.

Cuisine 

In addition to traditional Carinthian cuisine, great importance is attached to fresh products from local farms. Fresh fish from Lake Ossiach is served in many different ways. Direct marketers and farmers' markets offer the opportunity to take a taste of Carinthia home with you.
