Route
Sunday, Arrival in Kiel

Unsupervised hotel parking (approximately €9,- per day, payable locally).

Monday, Rendsburg (45 km by bike, 43 minutes by train)

Along quiet side roads to the Kiel Canal and via the canal cycle path through Sehestedt to Rendsburg (impressive railway high bridge). Return by train (every 30 minutes) to Kiel and cycle back to the hotel.
Active version: Cycle back (+45 km).

Tuesday, Lake Plön Tour (55 km by bike, 78 minutes by train)

Travel by train (hourly service) to Plön. Circular tour around the Great Plön Lake with beautiful views and a detour to Prinzeninsel Island. Return by train and bicycle via the same route.

Wednesday, Excursion to Fehmarn or Kiel

By car to the island of Fehmarn, which is not accessible by public transport (approximately 90 minutes by car each way; 5 lighthouses, sandy beach, Burg town), or individual sightseeing in the port city of Kiel (old town, harbor, aquarium).

Thursday, Schönberger Strand (66 km)

Along the Baltic Sea coastal cycle path via Heikendorf and Laboe (submarine, naval memorial) to Schönberger Strand. Return inland via Lake Passade and Probsteierhagen.

Friday, Westensee Nature Reserve (35 km)

Via Russee and Mielkendorf to the Westensee nature reserve. Circular tour with swimming opportunities, then return.

Saturday, Eckernförde (58 km by bike, 31 minutes by train)

Along the Baltic Sea coastal cycle path via Schilksee (Olympic Sailing Center) to Eckernförde (sandy beach, old town, harbor). Return by train (every 30 minutes) to Kiel and cycle back to the hotel.
