Bad Karlshafen

Bad Karlshafen is a spa town in northern Hesse on the Upper Weser River. Founded as a Baroque planned town at the end of the 17th century, it later received the addition “Bad” due to its importance as a spa and health resort. Bad Karlshafen is located on the right (eastern) bank of the Weser, opposite the North Rhine-Westphalian town of Beverungen, near the confluence of the Diemel River. The town lies about 45 kilometers north of Kassel and is surrounded by the wooded hills of the Weser Uplands.
