The Granitz is a wooded nature reserve covering around 1,000 hectares in the southeast of the island of Rügen and part of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve. At its highest point, the Tempelberg, stands the striking Granitz hunting lodge with a 38-meter-high observation tower — from there, on a clear day, you can enjoy a magnificent view over the island and the Baltic Sea. In addition, a beautiful high cliff path leads through the area along the steep coast to the idyllic Schwarzer See lake with its rare moor and lake habitat.
