Coburg
This historic small town in Bavaria, or more precisely in Upper Franconia, also boasts a well-preserved old town, numerous churches and several castles and palaces. The town is home to one of Germany's largest castles, the Veste Coburg.
The town's most beautiful sights:
• Market square
• Rose garden
• St. Moritz Church and St. Augustine's Church
• Castle square
• Court garden & Veste Coburg
Active holidaymakers will also get their money's worth thanks to the varied landscape: cycling at various levels of difficulty, hiking – e.g. along the Way of St. James through Coburg, Nordic walking, golf and relaxing in the surrounding thermal baths.
Coburg is also the venue for the largest samba festival outside Brazil.
