The danube experience ticket is a real highlight! It includes for example coffee stop, historical theatre, garden exhibition and wine tasting.

Route

Day 1, Arrival

Arrive in Passau. Pick up rental bikes at the Donau Touristik Info Point or at the arrival hotel. Parking available at the Info Point.

Day 2, Wesenufer/Schlögen (40 km)

Travel through Obernzell and Engelhartszell (Abbey) to the natural wonder Schlögener Schlinge.

Day 3, Linz (56 km)

Through the sparsely populated Engtal romantically to Aschach; over Eferding (Castle, Parish Church) to the EU Capital of Culture 2009. An additional night allows you to explore with vouchers worth € 20.- for many shops, cafes, and restaurants.

Day 4, Wallsee/Au (42 km)

On the Danube Cycle Path, pass through Machland to the Abwinden power plant, then to Mauthausen and the daily destination.

Day 5, Maria Taferl/Marbach (56 km)

Through the Strudengau with the romantic Hößgang to Ybbs and the daily destination, the second-largest pilgrimage site in Austria, or Marbach.

Day 6, Krems/Traismauer (54/69 km)

On the cycle path to Melk (impressive abbey) and then into the famous wine region Wachau, and further to the daily destination in Krems or Traismauer.

Day 7, Vienna (63/78 km)

To the flower city Tulln and further to Klosterneuburg. Return the rental bikes there and take the S-Bahn (half-hourly, approximately € 6.- on-site) to the center of Vienna or continue by bike to the hotel.

Day 8, Departure

Bus transfer from the hotel in Vienna every Saturday and additionally every Sunday from June to August; on remaining days, take the train (2^nd class/free choice of trains, 2-hour intervals, no transfer to/from the train station). Daily return transfer of your own bikes possible for € 30.- (e-bike € 36.-).
