Monday, Wesel-Datteln Canal (65 km)

Along the Wesel-Datteln Canal through the Lippeaue, via Schermbeck, past Gartrop Water Castle, and back.

Tuesday, Rhine floodplains (31 km)

Through the Rhine floodplains to Diersfort and Ringenberg Castles, then back along the Issel River.

Wednesday, Xanten (43 km)

To Xanten via the former railroad right-of-way bike path; return by ferry through the Rhine floodplains.

Thursday, Rees and Emmerich (47 km by bike, 25 minutes by train)

Along the Rhine Cycle Route to Rees and Emmerich (“Golden Gate Bridge”) and back by train (hourly service).
