Route
Day 1, Arrival in Merseburg

Affordable parking is available near the hotel or at the hotel car park (approximately €16 per day, payable locally). Your rental bike (if booked) will be ready for you at the hotel.

Day 2, Merseburg & Wallendorf Lake (27 km)

Visit Merseburg Cathedral, whose archive houses the Merseburg Charms, the oldest known German written documents. Cycle along the Saale River to Meuschau, around Wallendorf Lake and Raßnitz Lake, and back.

Day 3, Geiseltal Lake (41 km)

Visit Merseburg Castle with its cultural history museum, then continue via Stöbnitz along the Goethe Cycle Path around Geiseltal Lake to the nature observation station and back.

Day 4, Naumburg Cathedral (47 km cycling, 26 minutes by train)

Cycle along the Saale Cycle Path via Bad Dürrenberg to Naumburg. Visit the impressive cathedral, one of the most important architectural monuments of Romanesque and Gothic art in Europe. Return by train (approximately every 30 minutes).

Day 5, Halle/Saale (45 km)

Cycle along the Saale Cycle Path via Rattmannsdorf to the city of George Frideric Handel. Highlights include Hallmarkt with the Göbel Fountain, the Handel House, the Cathedral, Moritzburg Castle, the Red Tower, and more. Return to Merseburg.
Our tip: Take a Saale river boat cruise (duration approximately 60 minutes).
