Bike check: Ready for the season!

The cycling season is approaching and it's time to get your bike in shape! Whether for leisurely or more challenging tours - a well-maintained bike is the key to a successful cycle tour.

Start the new season worry-free.

The basics:

Cleaning and lubrication

Use a mild detergent and a soft cloth to clean the frame and components of your bike. It is best to clean the chain with an old toothbrush and a little chain oil to ensure a smooth ride.

Tyre pressure & tyre check:

Safety first

The tyres are the direct point of contact between your bike and the ground. It is therefore particularly important to check them regularly. Check the pressure and general condition of the tyres. Too low a pressure increases rolling resistance, too high a pressure increases the risk of a flat tyre. Small cracks or wear should be repaired in good time.

Brakes and gearstick:

For a smooth journey

One of the most important safety components of your bike are the brakes and gears. Test them on a short test ride. If necessary, it is best to have them repaired by a bike workshop you trust in order to avoid possible sources of error.

Saddle and handlebars

Comfort for long tours

The saddle and handlebars should be comfortably adjusted to your needs. A relaxed posture ensures greater comfort and less strain during longer journeys. Small adjustments, such as raising or lowering the handlebars, can work wonders here.

The right equipment:

Prepared for every adventure

In addition to bike maintenance, the right equipment is also important. Pack the most important items such as a spare inner tube, a multi-tool and a small air pump. Think about weatherproof clothing and don't forget cycling goggles to protect you from the sun, dust and insects.

A well-fitting cycle helmet is also essential - it protects you in the event of a fall and ensures greater safety on the route.
