Advent markets
From the end of November until Christmas, Bratislava's most beautiful squares are transformed into fairytale Christmas markets every year. The scent of Christmas baking, hot punch and roasted almonds fills the air. The old town centre and shopping streets are decorated with festive lights and put the city in a Christmassy mood. There is also a "Christmas tram" that connects the Advent markets.

We recommend a visit to one of the following Advent markets:
Main Square
Franziskaner-Platz
Courtyard of the Old Town Hall
Primatialplatz

Top sights

The route leads from the Primatial Palace and the Old Town Hall via St Michael's Gate to Grassalkovich Palace, the seat of the Slovakian president, and on to Bratislava Castle with its magnificent view of the city. In the centre, the Cathedral of St. Martin (former coronation church) and the Blue Church are also worth seeing. Between the two churches you will stumble across the most photographed work of art in Bratislava, the Gaffer.

MS Primadonna: a note about the stop
You are welcome to visit the sights such as St Martin's Cathedral, the Old Opera House, the Old Town Hall, the Philharmonic Hall and various churches on foot or from a sightseeing train. Also possible with a tour guide. You can also enjoy the view over the whole city from Bratislava Castle.

Culture & Events
Bratislava offers a broad cultural landscape and is the venue for many different events. In addition to almost 50 museums, there are around 20 galleries and almost 30 theatres. Today, Eurovea City is one of the city's most important social and cultural centres.

Culinary delights

In the centre, the many restaurants and beer pubs directly in the pedestrian zone invite you to get to know the culinary side of Bratislava. The Ufo restaurant on the SNP Bridge, 85 metres above the Danube, offers a very special gastronomic experience.
