The town's landmark is the parish church of St. Servulus with its striking bell tower. The viewpoints around the old town offer sweeping views over the vineyards, olive groves and as far as the Adriatic coast.

The area around Buje is characterised by rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves, as well as small natural and cultural landscapes that are ideal for hiking and cycling.

Culture & events

Cultural life in Buje is strongly influenced by Istrian traditions. Music and folklore events, art exhibitions and wine festivals take place regularly. The summer town festivals, which focus on local culture, crafts and music, are particularly popular.

Cuisine

Buje is considered the centre of Istrian viticulture. The white wines Malvasia and the red wine Teran are particularly well known. In addition, there are high-quality olive oils, truffle dishes, homemade pasta and other specialities of Istrian cuisine, which combine Mediterranean and Central European influences.
