Dietfurt also connects to the Five Rivers Cycle Path towards Bamberg and the Main-Danube Canal Cycle Path.The city, located in the Altmühltal Nature Park, is also a state-approved resort.

About one and a half kilometers outside the city center is the Dietfurt ship pier on the Main-Danube Canal in the immediate vicinity of the Altmühl-Panoramaweg and one of the numerous stations of the Altmühl Vale archaeological park.
