Top sights
The Jentower is the landmark of the city of light and was Germany's tallest skyscraper in 1972. The viewing platform offers the best panoramic view of the city and its surroundings.

Only small parts or ruins remain of the former fortifications and castles. Similarly, only four of the seven wonders of Jena, which have been known far beyond the city limits since the 17th century, still exist.

Jena offers many cultural activities and is characterized above all by a young cultural scene. The most famous event is the Kulturarena open-air festival, which captivates the city and countless tourists throughout the summer.
