Top sights

A stroll through Meersburg quickly turns into a little discovery tour. The small town on the shores of Lake Constance is home to Germany's oldest inhabited castle. Not far away is the bishop's baroque residence, the New Meersburg Castle. Further on, you will come across the Meersburg State Winery and Peter Lenk's Magic Column.

Culture & Events

Meersburg combines music, literature and the visual arts. International castle concerts featuring renowned classical musicians and up-and-coming young artists are held regularly in the Hall of Mirrors at the New Meersburg Castle. The Droste Literature Days, which have been held since 1948, are also part of Meersburg's cultural programme. These are held every May at the Vineum Bodensee, which is also known for wine tours and various event series such as ‘Culture under the Roof’ and other special exhibitions.

Cuisine

As everywhere else on Lake Constance, you will find various fish specialities here, such as freshly caught whitefish or zander. To accompany your meal, you can enjoy a glass of first-class Meersburg wine. Many restaurants and wine bars invite you to sample a variety of delicacies.

Every year, the Meersburg wine festivals and winegrowers' festivals organised by the associations take place, which are popular with wine lovers. Here you can taste the city's fine wines.
