Vohburg an der Donau

The town of Vohburg belongs to the Upper Bavarian district of Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm. The river outlets of the Danube, Kleine Donau and Paar frame the beautiful old town. The south of the town also borders the Ilm.

Top sights

  • The ‘Klein-Donau-Tor’ (Little Danube Gate) is the town's landmark and also forms the entrance to the town square. It was built in 1471 and is a two-storey, plastered building in the late Gothic style.
  • The Lourdes Grotto was financed by donations from Katharina and Andreas Högl and was built around 1879. This grotto can only be visited during the opening hours of the doctor's surgery in the Sparkasse.
