Culture & Events
The lake festival in Röbel an der Müritz is one of the most popular folk festivals in the region. It takes place every year in July. On the first weekend in August, the traditional Quetziner Strandfest (beach festival) takes place in the north of Plau am See. Competitions and demonstrations on land and on the water are on the program here.
Cuisine
The culinary scene offers typical Mecklenburg dishes such as fish specialties from Lake Plau, stews such as “Mecklenburg rib roast,” and traditional cakes such as “Mecklenburg streusel cake.” Regional fruit brandies and liqueurs are also popular.
