Day 2, Venzone/Gemona (56/64 km)The heart of the Alpe Adria Cycle Route: car-free along the old railway line through the Fella valley to Pontebba and onward to today’s destination. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ hotel.
Day 3, Udine (63/55 km)Bike tour along the Tagliamento on side roads through the fertile Friuli region to the historic trading town of Udine with its magnificent old town. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.
Day 4, Trieste (68 km by bike, 24 minutes by train)Past Palmanova and Aquileia to Monfalcone, then by train to Trieste (bike ticket approximately € 2,- on site).

Day 5, Portorož (45 km)Take the ferry to Muggia (approximately € 6,- on site; hourly service), then cycle along the coast via Koper and Izola to Portorož. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ hotel.
Day 6, Motovun (55 km)From the coast through Istrian villages and hilly countryside to medieval Motovun with its magnificent views. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.
Day 7, Poreč (35 km)Downhill through vineyards and olive groves to the coast and the old town of Poreč with its Euphrasian Basilica. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.
Day 8, end of the cycling tourReturn transfer by bus to Tarvisio to the parked car (own bike for an extra charge on the return bus journey) or book an extension in Trieste.
