Route
1. Day, Arrival in Bregenz

Arrive individually in Bregenz. At the information point, you will receive your travel documents and rental bicycles if booked. Several parking options are available depending on availability: low cost parking about 2 to 4 km from the information point for approximately € 6 per day, central public parking spaces for around € 10 per day, or parking at the arrival hotel for approximately € 10 to € 20 per day, payable on site. The Pfänderbahn underground car park also offers special rates and advance reservation is recommended. Alternatively, Bregenz can easily be reached by train thanks to its excellent long distance rail connections. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ hotel.

2. Day, Romanshorn/Güttingen (45/56 km)

Your first cycling stage follows the lakeshore through Bregenz, passing the Festival Hall and the famous floating stage. Continue to Mehrerau with its active monastery before riding past several lakeside swimming spots to the Bregenzer Ache. The route then leads through the protected natural landscape of Altenrhein and onward to Staad. Throughout the day, magnificent views of Lake Constance accompany your ride as you cross into Switzerland and continue to Romanshorn or Güttingen, where your next overnight stay awaits. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

3. Day, Singen/Rielasingen (55/65 km)

Today you follow the shores of Lake Constance to Kreuzlingen before continuing along the Untersee section of the lake. Passing through Ermatingen and Berlingen, you reach picturesque Stein am Rhein, renowned for its beautifully preserved historic centre and richly decorated medieval facades. After exploring this charming town, continue through scenic lakeside landscapes and attractive villages. The route remains close to the water for much of the day before leading you to Singen or Rielasingen, your destination for the evening. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ hotel.

4. Day, Schaffhausen & Rhine Falls (55 km)

The Rhine Cycle Route takes you along the river to Schaffhausen, whose historic old town is dominated by the impressive Munot Fortress. From there you continue to the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe. An included boat trip offers an unforgettable opportunity to experience the immense power of the falls up close. After enjoying this remarkable natural attraction and taking time for sightseeing, you return by bicycle to your overnight destination. This stage combines cultural highlights and spectacular scenery along the Rhine. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ hotel.

5. Day, Constance/Kreuzlingen (57 km)

Today’s route leads across the Höri Peninsula to Radolfzell, offering varied scenery and beautiful views of the Untersee. Continue past the famous island of Reichenau and on to the historic Council City of Constance or neighbouring Kreuzlingen. If you wish, a circular ride around the UNESCO World Heritage island of Reichenau can be added, extending the route by 16 km. Rich in history and located directly on the waterfront, Constance provides an attractive setting for the end of another rewarding day of cycling. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ hotel.

6. Day, Friedrichshafen (33 km Cycling, 15 Ferry Minutes)

You may spend the morning exploring on your own. A visit to the flower island of Mainau is highly recommended before continuing to the ferry terminal at Constance/Staad. Following the crossing to Meersburg, cycle along the lakeshore via Immenstaad to Friedrichshafen. Here you can discover landmarks such as the historic customs building within the lakeside park and the distinctive castle church. After the ferry crossing, an optional detour to the prehistoric pile dwellings at Uhldingen is also worthwhile and adds approximately 10 km to the route. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ or 4☼☼☼☼ hotel.

7. Day, Bregenz (35 km)

Before leaving Friedrichshafen, you may wish to visit the renowned Zeppelin Museum. The route then follows the shore of Lake Constance through the protected nature reserve at the Argen estuary. Those looking for a longer ride can take a detour along the River Argen to Laimnau, adding approximately 18 km. Continue to the historic island town of Lindau before completing your tour in the festival town of Bregenz. The final stage combines attractive nature reserves, charming lakeside towns and wonderful views of the surrounding landscape. Overnight stay in a 3☼☼☼ hotel.

8. Day, End of the Cycling Tour

After breakfast, your cycling holiday around Lake Constance comes to an end. Depending on your plans, you may enjoy some additional time in Bregenz before starting your individual journey home. Thanks to excellent road and rail connections, onward travel is straightforward. If you would like to spend more time in the region, additional nights can be booked in advance to extend your stay and further explore the many attractions around Lake Constance.
