Travel independently by train or car, arriving by 4:30 p.m., followed by a transfer from Passau Central Station to the ship. Boarding begins at 3:30 p.m. Welcome dinner. Depending on water levels, take a boat ride to the Old Town for a self-guided tour.
Day 2, Wesenufer – Schlögener Schlinge – Linz (64 km)Pick up rental bikes. Via Niederranna to Au, then by ferry to Schlögen, continuing through the Schlögener Schlinge and the Engtal valley near Kaiserau to the Church of the 1,000 Angels and on to Linz.
Day 3, Wachau (53 km)Bike tour from Marbach past Melk (impressive abbey) and through the Wachau region via Dürnstein to Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site).
Day 4, Vienna by bike (27 km)Independent sightseeing in Vienna, possibly by bike (car-free bike path leading right into the pedestrian zone). Optional: Morning city tour of Vienna by bus (2 hours), followed by a visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Optional: Afternoon city tour of Vienna by bike (3 hours).
Active option: Bike through the Donau-Auen National Park to Hainburg (54 km); return via S-Bahn (hourly service, direct via Handelskai, 70-minute train ride, ticket €15 available on site).
Past Wallsee and Pragstein Castles, on to Mauthausen, and through the Pleschinger See recreational area to Linz.
Active option: Bike tour via Enns, Austria’s oldest town, and St. Florian (abbey) to the day’s destination + 16 km. Return rental bikes at the Donau Touristik office (about a 15-minute walk from the ship).
Disembarkation by 10:00 a.m. Bus transfer from the ship to Passau Central Station and return home.
