From the city of three rivers, Passau, the route leads through diverse river landscapes, traditional towns, and historic cities all the way to Vienna. Linz, Grein, and the Wachau Valley provide distinctive highlights, while the floating hotel offers a comfortable retreat throughout the cruise.

In Passau by train or car. Boarding from 3:30 pm. Bus transfer from the Donau Touristik private car park or Passau main railway station to the ship from around 4.30 pm. The welcome meal will be served after boarding. Depending on the water level, it may be possible to travel by boat to Passau’s old town for a self-guided tour of the ‘city of three rivers’ (alternatively by taxi; cost approx. €10 per person each way).
Day 2, Wesenufer – Schlögener Schlinge – Linz (64 km)Handover of rental bikes. Via Niederranna to Au, then by ferry to Schlögen, continuing through the Schlögener Schlinge and the narrow valley near Kaiserau to the Church of the 1,000 Angels and on to Linz. At around 10:30 pm, we continued our journey by boat to Marbach.
Day 3, Wachau (53 km)Bike tour from Marbach passing Melk (impressive benedictine abbey) and through the Wachau region via Dürnstein to Krems (UNESCO World Heritage Site). At around 10 pm, we’ll continue our journey by boat to Vienna.
Day 4, Vienna by bike (27 km)Individual sightseeing of Vienna, possible by bike (car-free bike path leading right into the pedestrian zone). Optional: Vienna city tour by bus (3 hours), followed by a visit to the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna. Active version: By bike through the Donau Floodplains National Park to Hainburg (54 km); return by direct train (hourly service, direct via Handelskai, 70-minute train ride, ticket €15 available on site). At around 5 pm, the MS Primadonna departs from Vienna.
Day 5, Grein – Linz (59 km)Around 9 am arrival of the MS Primadonna in Grein. Cycle past the castles of Wallsee and Pragstein on to Mauthausen and through the Pleschinger See recreational area to Linz.
Active version: Bike tour via Enns, Austria’s oldest town, and St. Florian Abbey to the day’s destination + 16 km. Return rental bikes at the Donau Touristik office (about a 15-minute walk from the ship). At around 10 pm, we continued our journey by boat towards Passau.
Arrival in Passau at 9.00 am. Disembarkation in Passau until 10.00 am. Bus transfer from the ship to the Donau Touristik parking lot or Passau train station and journey home.
For your safety, the Captain may make changes to the itinerary at any time (including on short notice) due to high water, low water, or other cases of FORCE MAJEURE. Arrival times are subject to lock waiting times and assume normal water levels.
