Day 2, Bamberg (36 km by bike, 20 minutes by train)Take the Main Cycle Route via Zapfendorf and Breitengüßbach to Bamberg (historic old town, town hall on the bridge, imperial cathedral). Return by train (every half hour).
Day 3, Banz Monastery (20 km, 330 m elevation gain)Past Unnersdorf via cycle paths and forest roads to Banz Monastery (monastery church, monastery tavern, view) and back.
Day 4, Kronach (36 km by bike, 25 minutes by train)Through meadows and fields past Lichtenfels, Hochstadt and Redwitz. With a view of Rosenberg Fortress to Kronach (historic old town, Rosenturm tower). Return by train (hourly service).
Active version: Return by bike (+ 36 km).
Day 5, Coburg (30 km by bike, 35 minutes by train)Through the monastery forest to Banz, via Großheirath to Coburg with its picturesque old town (Ehrenburg Castle, market square) and the famous Veste fortress and its courtyard garden. Return by train (every half hour, 1 change).
Day 6, Vierzehnheiligen (19 km)Take the cycle path to Schönbrunn and via Grundfeld to the pilgrimage site of Vierzehnheiligen (Rococo basilica). Return to the hotel around the Staffelberg (700 m steep section) or take the same route.
