The Puster Valley Cycle Path, also known as Ciclabile della Pusteria, is one of the most popular cycling routes in South Tyrol, Italy. This scenic route runs through the Puster Valley in the Dolomites and leads through breathtaking alpine landscapes, past charming villages, historic towns, and cultural highlights.

The cycle path stretches from Mühlbach to Lienz in East Tyrol and follows the Rienz River. It has a total length of 105 km and is mostly paved. With a gentle elevation difference of around 500 meters, it is especially suitable for beginners and families with children.

The Puster Valley is an ideal destination for anyone who loves cycling and wants to experience the beauty of the South Tyrolean Alps. It is also a wonderful way to explore the region and its culture in a relaxed and authentic way.

BRIXEN CATHEDRAL AND HOFBURG

Brixen Cathedral is one of the most important religious buildings in South Tyrol. Built in the 13th century, it features impressive Romanesque architecture and valuable artworks. Among them is the famous altarpiece by Michael Pacher. Right next to it stands the historic Hofburg, once the residence of the prince-bishops. The palace combines different architectural styles from various periods. Today, it houses the Diocesan Museum with religious art treasures. Together, they represent the cultural and historical heart of Brixen.

NOVACELLA ABBEY (KLOSTER NEUSTIFT)

 

Novacella Abbey is one of the largest and most significant monasteries in the Alpine region. Founded in the 12th century, it remains an active center of faith and culture. FORTRESS FRANZENSFESTE

 

Franzensfeste Fortress is one of the largest historic complexes in South Tyrol. It covers an area as large as nine football fields. Built in the 19th century, it remains largely in its original condition. Today, it serves as a venue for exhibitions and cultural events. Since 2008, it has become an important center for contemporary art. The fortress symbolizes cultural exchange and historical significance.
